WildWork is a job board for outdoor and adventure work in the United States. Fishing guides, hunting guides, ranch hands and cowboys, wranglers, wildland firefighters, rafting guides, deckhands and Alaska fishing crews, dude ranch staff, backcountry cooks, packers, caretakers and trail crews. If the job happens outside and the hiring is done by the people who run the operation, it belongs here.
Why WildWork exists
The big job sites bury outfitter and ranch listings under thousands of unrelated postings, and most of what surfaces is scraped, expired or a recruiter in the middle. The good jobs in this world still move by phone call and word of mouth, and they fill in days. WildWork puts those listings in one place, checks the employers who post, labels every listing that has not been checked yet, and shows the facts that matter before you apply: pay, season dates, housing, meals, and who you will actually be working for.
The board is modeled on the way ranch and outfitter hiring has always worked: a short, honest listing from the person doing the hiring, read by people who already know what the work is. No accounts, no résumé uploads, no application fee. You read the listing, you email or call the employer, and the conversation starts.
Who runs it
WildWork is independently owned and run by Logan Mann. There is no venture funding and no parent company. The how-tos are researched against primary sources and carry the name of the person responsible for them. Meet the team below.
How listings are verified
Every employer who posts on WildWork is checked by a person before the listing goes live. We confirm the business exists through its website, phone number, state outfitter or guide license, or a direct conversation. Listings that ask workers to pay a fee, buy equipment up front, or send money for housing are refused. If a listing turns out to be wrong, email us and it comes down the same day. We also gather open positions from employers’ own career pages and USAJOBS so more of the real work is in one place; those are labeled “Not yet verified” until we have checked the employer, and their apply link goes to the original posting. What is free and what is paid
Browsing jobs, posting a Job Wanted, and the Monday digest are free and always will be. Employers pay to post a listing, which keeps the board free of scraped junk and funds the verification work. Job seekers can pay for Early Access, which sends every new listing the hour it goes live instead of the following Monday. Nobody pays to apply.
How the how-tos are written
Every how-to on the site is researched against primary sources: state licensing boards, agency pay tables, and employer hiring pages. Every number carries a source and the date we checked it, and we would rather leave a fact out than guess. When a licensing rule or pay rate changes, the article is updated and the date at the top moves. If you find something out of date, tell us and we will fix it.
