A deck position covering both of Glacier Fish Company’s catcher-processors, the F/T Alaska Ocean and the F/T Northern Glacier, which fish the Bering Sea and the waters off Washington and Oregon. Trips average sixteen to twenty-five days on a rotating year-round schedule. Duties include operating deck equipment, rigging nets and trawl gear, signalling during hauls, complying with prohibited species rules, maintaining and repairing gear, mooring the vessel, assisting with shipyard preparation and taking part in safety drills; factory work is expected when the deck is quiet. Prior commercial fishing deckhand experience is required. Meals and laundry aboard are free and berths are shared between two and six crew.
