Nevada State Parks is hiring a commissioned Park Ranger 2, underfilling a Park Supervisor 2 role, to run Cathedral Gorge State Park and its regional visitor center near Panaca plus nearby Beaver Dam State Park. The work mixes hands-on park operations with oversight: maintaining buildings, grounds, restrooms and vehicles, staffing entrance stations and visitor centers, running interpretive programs and guided hikes, carrying out resource management projects, and training and scheduling seasonal staff. Because the post is commissioned, the ranger also enforces state law and park rules, writes citations, investigates accidents and takes part in search and rescue. Living on park property is mandatory, and shifts include weekends, holidays and varied weather. Candidates who are not already Nevada POST certified attend a state-paid peace officer academy.
