Ranch Manager / Caretaker

Hall and Hall is recruiting a sole ranch manager and caretaker for a roughly 10,000-acre private ranch outside Big Sandy in north-central Montana. The property is grazed under a lease by a neighbouring cattle operation, grows some crops, and is used for the owner’s private recreation and hunting. The manager reports directly to the owner and is responsible for fencing, roads, water systems, buildings, fire and disaster preparedness, and the overall condition of the place, plus alfalfa and grass production on a limited scale. The role also covers wildlife and hunting management, preparing accommodations, vehicles and equipment so the ranch is always arrival-ready for the owner and guests, property security, and managing contractors and vendors. Five or more years of ranch management experience is required, along with discretion and the ability to work independently.
