Assistant Cook – F/T Northern Glacier

Glacier Fish Company needs an assistant cook for the Northern Glacier, a 200-foot factory trawler with about 40 crew that fishes around the clock in the Bering Sea, Gulf of Alaska and Aleutian Islands. The assistant cook makes family-style meals, including the breakfast and midnight meals, bakes bread and desserts, helps the head cook plan menus and track inventory, carries stores aboard and keeps the galley clean to sanitation standards. Three or more years cooking on a fishing vessel or cruise ship is preferred, along with comfort cooking for groups of 50 or more. Fishing trips usually last 12 to 18 days, and finishing a 65-day contract makes you eligible for company-paid airfare and hotel between Seattle and the vessel. Pay is not listed on the posting.
