Ringneck Ranch, a large upland hunting lodge in north-central Kansas, hires home cooks for its kitchen from October 1 through early March. Meals are served family-style at set times, so there are no individual orders; the crew shares cooking, baking, table setting, serving and cleanup. Evening shifts run roughly 4 or 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. two to five days a week, and weekend breakfast/lunch or supper shifts are also available, with breaks at Thanksgiving and Christmas. No experience is needed since the ranch trains, and grilling skills are a bonus. Pay is $12 to $17 an hour depending on experience, plus gratuities. Contact dina@ringneckranch.net or the office at 785-373-4835.
