About Trout is adding a fly fishing guide on New Mexico’s San Juan River tailwater starting March 2027, with extra days on private water and high-country streams across the Southern Rockies. Most work is float trips, plus some walk-and-wade, and the outfit guides twelve months a year, so the role can grow from part-time into full-time year-round work. You need to be a confident rower who owns a suitable drift boat, a strong trout angler, and a patient teacher who can work with beginners and experienced clients alike. Pay is $250 to $490 per day, with paid time off tied to how many trips you fill in a season. To apply, email James with the subject ‘About Trout 2027 Guide Season’ and include a short intro, your resume or guiding history, your boat details, and why you want the job.
