Quail Hunting Guide / Dog Handler

HOLT Group’s corporate ranch near Kingsville in South Texas is hiring a full-time quail hunting guide and dog handler. The guide leads quail and dove hunts for clients, helps train and care for a kennel of about 45 bird dogs, and runs equipment for brush clearing and general ranch upkeep. Guided quail hunting experience is required, ideally three to five years, and experience hunting behind pointing dogs is strongly preferred. Expect long days and up to seven days a week during the peak September through February season, plus evenings, weekends and holidays. You need reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license, since camp can be 5 to 15 miles from the gate, and a drug test and background check are required.
