Crews camp near project sites on an 8-days-on, 6-days-off hitch schedule doing trail construction and maintenance, invasive plant control (including herbicide), fencing, habitat restoration and fuels reduction, with possible disaster deployments of up to 30 days. Applicants must be 18 or older with a high school diploma or equivalent and must stay drug- and alcohol-free during the program. Benefits are a $480 weekly living allowance, an extra $120 a week and a $1,956.35 education award. AZCC does not provide housing and asks members to bring their own camping gear.
