This is ACE’s standing application for its AmeriCorps crew program, and you choose which crew base you want: Flagstaff AZ, Hurricane UT, Asheville NC, or Sacramento, Ridgecrest and Coachella Valley in California. Crews build and maintain trail, pull invasive plants, plant natives, thin trees, build wildlife fencing and do historic preservation on public lands. Start dates roll throughout the year and terms run anywhere from 3 to 12 months. The stipend works out to $400 a week, with three meals a day on project, free housing on days off, camp gear, and training in trail skills, herbicide use and wilderness first aid. Fill out the online application and pick your preferred division; it gets routed to that office for review.
