Seasonal Snowmobile Trail Signage and Snow Grooming Worker (Winter 2026-27)

Wyoming’s state trails program is hiring up to ten winter seasonals to keep more than 2,500 miles of snowmobile trails open. Four trail signage workers stake and sign routes at the start of winter, maintain markers as snow builds, clear deadfall and limbs, and pull everything at season’s end. Six groomers run the program’s snowcats in nine areas, including the Bear Lodge Mountains near Sundance, the Beartooths near Cody, South Pass near Lander, the Gros Ventre and Granite Hot Springs areas near Jackson, and the Snowy Range and Sierra Madre. Applicants must be 18 with a valid driver’s license and able to lift 50 pounds and work outdoors in any weather; two years of grooming experience is preferred. The season runs roughly October 15, 2026 to May 15, 2027 depending on location, with irregular hours, and pay is $16 to $23 an hour.
