ACE is placing one member at Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge, a 230,000-acre refuge on the Rio Grande south of Albuquerque, to work alongside the refuge biologist. The main project is surveying and removing feral cattle, horses and oryx, including building and repairing wildlife-friendly perimeter fence and spring exclosures, plus invasive plant control at restoration sites for endangered species. The term runs from November 23, 2026 to about May 15, 2027 with a 25-week minimum, mostly Monday to Friday. Members receive a $600 weekly living allowance and free Fish and Wildlife Service housing for the whole term, plus training such as UTV, fencing and herbicide certification. This is a Public Land Corps placement, so applicants generally need to be 16 to 30 (veterans up to 35) and meet citizenship rules, and drivers must be 21 or older. Apply online through ACE’s EPIC applicant portal at the posting link; it stays open until filled.
