SECC’s Chattanooga-based boundary crew needs an AmeriCorps assistant leader for a 450-hour term from January 18 to April 30, 2027. You’ll help the staff leader run a roving crew that camps and hikes into Forest Service land around the Southeast to maintain property-boundary lines and corner markers and record field data. Applicants must be 18 to 30 (35 for veterans), hold a high school diploma or GED, and have some experience leading young people; map, compass or GIS skills help. Benefits are a $480 weekly living allowance, a $170 weekly additional benefit, a $1,956.35 education award, Wilderness First Aid training, and food and transportation while on hitch.
