The Appalachian Mountain Club needs a caretaker to live at Cardigan Lodge, its lodge below Mount Cardigan in Alexandria, New Hampshire, from October 24, 2026 to March 12, 2027. The job is part host and part upkeep: greeting and helping guests, cleaning, tending the fires, clearing snow, pitching in on kitchen work, and handling routine maintenance. Applicants must be 18 or older, able to lift 50 pounds, comfortable working without much supervision, and good with people, with a real love of the outdoors.
