Bristol Wave Seafoods, a Bristol Bay Native Corporation subsidiary running freezer longliners out of Dutch Harbor, is hiring BBNC shareholders and their descendants with or without fishing experience. Newcomers start as factory processors (sorting, bleeding, heading and freezing fish) or deckhands (hauling lines and gear, running the autobaiter, crane and other deck machinery), and everyone helps load and offload. Shifts are 16 hours a day, seven days a week, trips usually last four to five weeks, and a rotation is typically two months or more. Pay is a crew share, with new hires usually starting at a half share, and the company pays all travel to Dutch Harbor and home on your first rotation. You must pass a drug screen (including THC) and a background check; apply through the Workable posting.
