Full-time state job leading a module of a 20-person inmate Type 2 hand crew out of DFFM’s Flagstaff office, working with Department of Corrections staff on wildfire suppression, wildland-urban interface fires and fuels projects including hand, mechanical and prescribed-fire treatments. The captain serves as the crew’s NWCG-qualified Crew Boss on fire assignments, handles training, scheduling, equipment inventory and crew-use invoices, and may manage fuel treatment projects for cooperators. You must keep NWCG quals and fitness current and be able to drive on state business. Pay is listed at $24.71–$27.37 an hour.
