Techs help the permanent staff feed and sample fish, clean rearing containers, collect broodstock, look after incubators and process adult salmon. A background in natural resources or aquaculture is a plus, and you need to be fit enough to move 50 lbs repeatedly while working outside in cold, wet and sometimes dark conditions. Pay starts at $16 to $20 an hour DOE, and housing is included for applicants who don’t live in Juneau.
