Eaglecrest Ski Area Lift Operator (Winter, Limited Position)

Eaglecrest, the city-owned ski area on Douglas Island in Juneau, is collecting applications for lift operators for the winter. Operators run the chairlifts safely, keep the daily logbooks, set up and take down lift line mazes, shovel snow on the loading and unloading ramps to keep a smooth grade, and check tickets at the RFID gates. The schedule is about 30 hours a week, Wednesday through Sunday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., with weekends and holidays required and overtime possible during holiday weeks. No education or experience is required, but you must be 18 or older and able to stand and shovel snow outdoors in bad weather for long stretches; skiers and snowboarders can ride between stations. Pay is $15.84 an hour plus discounts on food, rentals, retail and lessons; no housing is mentioned.
