Windham Mountain Club in New York’s Catskills is hiring ski patrollers for the winter season. Patrollers open and inspect trails and lifts before the public arrives, mark and fix hazards, keep up signs, fencing and padding, respond to accidents with first aid and toboggan rescue, run lift evacuations and help guests around the mountain. Candidates must ski or ride all terrain confidently while carrying gear, handle rescue toboggans on steep slopes, help move loads of 200 pounds or more, and hold a current EMT, OEC, paramedic or Wilderness First Responder certification. Start dates are expected between December 15 and 20 depending on snow, with early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays required. Pay is $20 to $25 an hour based on experience; housing and meals are not mentioned. Apply through Windham’s Paylocity posting at the link.
