Lead firefighter jobs on Forest Service hotshot and hand crews at more than 100 stations in Oregon, Idaho, Montana, Utah, Washington, Nevada and Alaska. Leads run a module of three or more firefighters, build handline, handle ignition and holding on prescribed burns, size up new starts, and run and maintain chainsaws. Firefighter Type 1 and the intermediate wildland fire behavior course are required, and passing the arduous work capacity test is a condition of employment.
