Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks is hiring a Recreation Manager for Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park, the state’s first state park, plus several fishing access sites along the Jefferson River. Based in Whitehall or Three Forks, the manager runs all non-maintenance operations at those sites: visitor use, recreation programs, fee collection, interpretation and education, visitor-use data collection, special recreation and commercial use permit compliance, and public safety response. A core piece is the guided cave tour operation, which runs seven days a week from May through September and involves training and overseeing roughly 15 seasonal staff along with the underground lighting, pathways and safety systems. Field work happens year-round in temperatures from minus 30 to over 100 degrees, and the job requires hiking up to two miles on uneven ground and comfort working in a cave. Weekend and holiday shifts are normal.
