California State Parks’ Diablo Range District needs a seasonal visitor services park aide at Benicia State Recreation Area on the Carquinez Strait, with occasional shifts at Benicia Capitol State Historic Park. Working under the rangers, the aide collects day-use fees, sells passes, prepares bank deposits, registers campers, counts daily attendance, and explains park rules to visitors. The state calls it a good entry-level way into State Parks, and the schedule includes weekends, holidays and occasional special events. Expect semi-outdoor work in heat and cold, a Live Scan background check, and a valid driver’s license with a safe record; the job can run up to 1,500 hours a year and state housing is not available. Pay is $17.38 to $20.69 an hour. Apply through CalCareers by October 27, 2026.
