Wildland Firefighter (GW-6)

One permanent full-time firefighter job with the U.S. Wildland Fire Service in Cherokee, North Carolina, filled by direct hire. The role is an experienced crew member or leader on a fire module, covering suppression, prescribed fire, fuels projects and data collection, and directing small crews on the line. You need Firefighter Type 1 and the S-290 fire behavior course, must pass the arduous work capacity test and drug testing, and must be under the maximum entry age of 37 unless you have prior covered service.
