SECC is hiring a staff leader for a roving crew that maintains U.S. Forest Service exterior boundary lines and corners across the Southeast from January 18 to April 30, 2027. The crew drives to forests around the region and hikes into sites with up to 50 lb of gear to repaint and renew boundary lines, update corner records and collect field data used for mineral and oil-and-gas lease checks. Camping may be frontcountry or backcountry on 8-day hitches. Pay is $925 to $1,125 per week depending on experience; Wilderness First Aid is provided, and food and transport are covered in the field (off-hitch housing is not). Leadership experience with young adults is required, and backcountry navigation or ArcGIS/survey skills are preferred. Apply through the Conservation Legacy portal.
