ACE’s Sacramento branch is filling AmeriCorps crew spots that start November 2, 2026, with a 450-hour term ending around March 10, 2027 or a 900-hour term running to about June 2, 2027. Crews rotate through places like Yosemite, Sequoia-Kings Canyon, Death Valley, the Pacific Crest Trail, coastal state parks and the Tahoe basin doing trail construction and maintenance, habitat work and restoration. Expect 10-hour days hauling tools on rough ground and eight straight days in the field, usually on an 8-on/6-off or 4-on/3-off rotation. Members get a $400 weekly living allowance, an education award ($1,956.35 or $3,697.50 depending on term), food on project days and free hostel-style housing on off days. You must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and pass a criminal history check. Apply online through ACE’s crew portal.
