The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is hiring an entry-level Fish Culturist to work in a state fish hatchery, supporting both sport fishing stocking programs and native fish restoration. The vacancy is advertised statewide. Day to day you care for and propagate fish at every life stage: handling and shipping eggs, feeding and thinning, cleaning rearing units, operating distribution units to haul and stock fish, and helping with captive and wild spawning operations away from the station. You also calculate and apply chemicals for biosecurity and disease prevention, keep accurate daily records and monthly reports, maintain buildings, grounds, rearing units and station housing, give tours and field questions from the public, and occasionally supervise a limited-term contract worker. A degree in wildlife or range management, biology or zoology is preferred but there are no hard minimum qualifications. Housing may be provided, at no cost where available.
