Crew-lead role on TNC’s Central Florida Ecosystem Restoration Team, overseeing staff and volunteers on prescribed burns while also doing the hands-on work: line prep, ignition, holding, mop-up, equipment maintenance and pre- and post-burn monitoring. When conditions keep fire off the ground, the job shifts to other land-management tasks on conservation lands. Applicants need a high school diploma, current FFT2 qualification with two seasons at that level or the agency equivalent, the arduous pack test, equipment experience (Type 6 engines, UTVs, saws) and a clean driving record. Pay is listed at $22.50–$26 an hour, and lodging is provided at the Disney Wilderness Preserve or Tiger Creek Preserve. Apply online through TNC by September 25, 2026.
